Outside for about an hour and a half, an interesting and informative “Bright” Dundee Tour takes you for a meander around the Albert Square and the 150 year old McManus Galleries and Museums buildings.
The talk helps us to build a picture in our minds of what actually existed around the square in 1867, and we learn the meaning of the statues and plaques on the way. Likenesses of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are seen more than once, and the comic character Oor Wullie cannot be passed by.
An incident took place nearby where William Wallace was involved, and the Robert Burns story is related with a short poem to his girlfriend Mary Campbell.
We meet just outside the McManus Galleries in Albert Square, Dundee.
